Accordion Rainbow Puppy – Free crochet pattern

Remember from childhood when we each had an accordion-kitten or puppy? The sounds it made when you pulled on the kitten/puppy’s bellows body were a delight for us, but a “nightmare” for adults …
When I discovered Elena Belova’s pattern, I couldn’t help but crochet it remembering my childhood.
Here is the Russian translation and I hope you enjoy crocheting this lovely pattern.

MATERIALS

• Yarns of your choice in the colors: yellow (70g), purple, blue, light blue, green, orange, red, brown, white and black (each color about 10g)
• Crochet hook suitable for yarn
• Sewing needle
• Thick cardboard (or plastic)
• Stuffing

EYELIDS x 2

Brown color yarn: 15ch, from the second ch of hook make: 14sc. Leave a tail for sewing.

Sew the speck under the right eye.

Sew the pupils to the eyeballs, embroider the light of the eyes with white thread, stuff lightly and sew them to the head. Sew eyelids around the eyes. Embroider a smile with brown thread.

BODY

MIDDLE PART

Crochet 2 circles each with red, orange, green, blue, light blue, purple yarn and 4 circles with yellow yarn.

Cut out 2 circles from cardboard according to the dimensions of the discs (cardboard can be replaced with plastic).

Place 2 discs on right side of each other (with the wrong side up) and sew them into a circle between the third and fourth row as in the photo bellow:

• red with orange;
• orange with yellow;
• yellow with green;
• green with light blue;
• light blue with blue;
• blue with purple;
• yellow with red;
• yellow with purple.

Connect the parts with the wrong side of the same color to each other and crochet single crochets.

FRONT PART

Crochet through both edges only in the back loop, don’t forget to insert the cardboard disc.
