Amelia Goose – Free crochet pattern and video tutorial

Hi everybody! In this tutorial I want to give you a little inspiration for Easter crafts. I know that you are already at work for handmade gifts to decorate parties or to make small gifts for a friend or grandchildren. And here’s another creative idea: let’s see together how to make Amelia Goose.

In the tutorial I used the abbreviations in English (black), Italian (red) and French (blue) and can be found here.

The pattern:

MATERIALS: (watch here)

  • acrylic wool yarn – white color
  • cotton yarn – red color  (thread of the same thickness)
  • hook 1,5
  • wire 20 cm long and 1 mm thick
  • a pipe cleaner
  • fiberfill
  • tapestry needle
  • needle and sewing thread
  • 2 black beads 3mm in diameter
  • velcro
  • scotch tape

Using the materials mentioned, the duck will be 12 cm tall.

HEAD and Neck (white yarn) – watch here

  • 1. 6sc in MR
  • 2. 6inc = 12
  • 3. (1sc, inc)x 6 = 18

BEAK (red yarn) – watch here

  • 1. 5ch, from the second ch from hook make 4sc and on the other side of the chain crochet 3sc = 7
  • 2-3. 7sc Leave a tail for sewing

Shape the head and sew the black beads (3mm diameter) between rows 9 and 10. The distance between the eyes is 6-7 stitches. (watch here)

Embroider the eyes. (watch here)

Sew the beak one row below the eyes, centrally. Embroider the beak bridge. (watch here)

Brush with velcro the duckling! (watch here)

FEET x 2 (red yarn) – watch here

  • 1. 6sc in MR
  • 2. 3sc, 1ch turn
  • 3-4. 3hdc, 1ch, turn

Sew the feet to the body! (watch here)

WINGS x 2 (white yarn) – watch here

  • 1. 3sc in MR, 1ch, turn
  • 2. 3inc, 1ch, turn = 6
  • 3. (1sc, inc)x 3, 1ch, turn = 9
  • 4. (2sc, inc)x 3, 1ch, turn = 12
