Amigurumi Cupid – Free crochet pattern

A wonderful Cupid pattern will certainly be a wonderful Valentine’s Day gift. The pattern belongs to the creator pinkpeper_crochet

Materials:

• 4 ply yarn in skin color, rust, brown and white
• 2.5 mm crochet hook
• yarn needle
• pins
• fiberfill
• scissors
• stitch markers
• 6 mm safety eyes
• toothpicks
• paper tape

HEAD

With skin color yarn:

• 1. Magic circle, 6sc [6]
• 2. 6 inc [12]
• 3. (sc, inc)* 6 times [18]
• 4. (2sc, inc)* 6 times [24]
• 5. (3sc, inc)* 6 times [30]
• 6. (4sc, inc)* 6 times [36]
• 7-17. 36sc [36] (11 rds)

Place the eyes, 7 stitches apart, between rows 12 and 13.

Continue crocheting the body.

BODY

Change colour to white.

• 29-32. 36sc [36] (4 rds)

• 37. 6 dec [6]. Fasten off and close the hole.

EARS (make 2)

With skin color yarn:

• 1. Magic circle, 6sc [6]
• 2. 6sc [6]. Fasten off leaving a tail for sewing.

Attach the ears on the sides, 5 stitches from the eyes, between rows 12 and 14.

Embroider the nose between the eyes. Add blush to the cheeks.

LEGS (make 2)

With brown yarn:

• 1. 6ch, from the second ch from hook: inc, 3sc, inc4sc and on the other side of the chain: 3sc, inc [14]
• 2. 14 slst [14]

Change colour to skin yarn.

• 3. BLO: 14sc [14]
• 4. 3sc, 4dec, 3sc [10]
• 5. 3sc, 2dec, 3sc [8]
• 6. 8sc [8]

Change colour to white.

• 7-8. 8sc [8] (2 rds). Fasten off leaving a tail for sewing.

Attach the legs, 6 stitches apart, on the last three rows of the body.

ARMS (make 2)

With skin color yarn:

• 1. Magic circle, 6sc [6]
• 2-9. 6sc [6] (8 rds)
• 10. Fold and make 3sc. Fasten off leaving a tail for sewing.

Attach the arms on the side on row 22 of the body, about 12 stitches apart.

WINGS (make 2)

With white yarn, crochet three parts:

Part A

• 1. Magic circle, 6sc [6]
• 2. 6sc [6]. Fasten off.

Part B

• 1. Magic circle, 6sc [6]
• 2. (sc, inc)* 3 times [9]
• 3. 9sc [9]. Fasten off.

Part C

• 1. Magic circle, 6sc [6]
• 2.  6 inc [12]
• 3. 12sc [12] Don’t cut the yarn.

Join the parts together:

• 1. 5sc on the part B, 6sc on the part A, 4sc on the part B, 12sc on the part C [27]

Now crochet normally in the round.

• 2. (7 sc, dec)*3 times [24]
• 3. (2sc, dec)*6 times [18]
• 4. (sc, dec)*6 times [12]
• 5. 6 dec [6]. Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.

Attach the wings at two points on row 22 behind the arms. This will allow you to move them.

HAIR

With rust color yarn, first make a scalp for the head

• 1. Magic circle, 6sc [6]
• 2. BLO: 6 inc [12]
• 3. BLO: (sc, inc)* 6 times [18]
• 4. BLO: (2sc, inc)* 6 times [24]
• 5. BLO: (3sc, inc)* 6 times [30]
• 6. BLO: (4sc, inc)* 6 times [36]
• 7. BLO: (5sc, inc)* 6 times [42]
• 8-11. BLO: 42sc [42] (4 rds). Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing to the head.

Now add curls to the scalp on the loops left free:

9ch from the second ch from hook: (inc, inc3sc)*4  [20], 1slst on the scalp, skip 2 stitches. Repeat to the top of the scalp.

Sew the hair to the head leaving a gap of 6 rows above the eyes (See photo).

Pull some curls down and attach to the face to hide the edge of the scalp.

QUIVER

With brown yarn:

• 1. Magic circle, 6sc [6]
• 2-3. 6sc [6] (2 rds)
• 4. (sc, inc)*3 times [9]
• 5-6. 9sc [9] (2 rds)
• 7. (sc, inc)*4 times [12]
• 8-11. 12sc [12] (4 rds). Fasten off.

Strap

Join the yarn at round 10, 30ch, 1slst on round 2.

Fasten off and hide the tails.

BOW and ARROWS

Bow

Bind two toothpicks together on both ends, using white yarn. Make two of this.

Now bind the two pairs together, at a slight angle.

Tie a piece of yarn from one pair to the other as seen in the photo.

Arrows

Stick paper tape to the edges of the toothpicks, sandwiching the toothpick between two pieces of tape.

Cut the two corners to shape the rear of the arrow.

Slide the quiver in place from the bottom.

Put the arm through the bow and the arrows in the quiver.

Your Cupid is ready!
