Doll Swing – free crochet pattern

Here is a wonderful doll swing! The doll is articulated and can be fixed with a magnet. The pattern belongs to the creator @emekhobi2017

MATERIALS

• Cotton blend and acrylic yarn 165m/50g: skin color, white, brown, green, yellow.
• Hook 1.75 mm
• 1 plastic disc of 11 cm diameter and 2 polyurethane foam discs of 11 cm diameter. The plastic disc is inserted between the other two discs, which can be made from the packaging that usually comes with meat products.
• 2 magnets of 1.5 cm diameter (one for the doll and one for the swing) – optional
• Transparent glue for fabrics
• 5 mm safety eyes
• Fiberfill for stuffing
• Wool needle
• Black, white embroidery thread
• 2.5 mm electric wire (about 40 cm)
• Scissors

ARMS x 2

Skin color yarn:

1. 6sc in MR

2-13. 6sc (12 rds). FO. Cut the thread.

Insert a thinner wire into the arms.

LEGS x 2

Right foot

Skin color yarn:

• 1. 6sc in MR
• 2. (inc, 2sc)x 2 = 8
• 3. 8sc, 1ch, turn

Crochet the heel:

• 4. 3sc, 1ch, turn = 3
• 5. skip 1st, 2sc = 2, don’t turn
• 6. 1sc, skip 1st (on the corner), 5sc, skip 1st (on the corner), 3sc = 9

The last stitch on the round will be on the middle of the heel. Move the marker.

Join the foot to the leg as in the photo and sew them together only on the sides, so that the leg has mobility.

Insert the eyes and embroider them with black thread!

Embroider the eyebrows with brown thread and the nose with skin-colored thread. Shape the mouth 3 rows below the nose (see video)

EARS x 2

Skin color yarn:

From the corner of the eye count 3sc and on the 3 rows upwards, sew two lines, then crochet on the two threads: 1slst, 4sc. Cut and hide the thread.

Between rows 5 and 6 from the body, sew the legs.

DRESS

Before starting, leave a thread of about 15 cm.

Yellow yarn:

• 1. 27ch, from the second ch from hook:26sc, 1ch turn
• 2. (1sc, inc)x 2, skip 6st, (1sc, inc)x 3, skip 6st, (inc, 1sc)x 2, 1ch, turn = 21sc
• 3. 21sc, 1ch, turn
• 4. (2sc, inc)x 7, 1ch, turn = 28
• 5. 28sc
• 6. (3sc, inc)x 7, 1slst, 1ch = 35

Crochet in a circle:

• 7. 35sc, 1slst, 1ch
• 8. (4sc, inc)x 7, 1slst, 1ch = 42
• 9-10. 42sc, 1slst, 1ch (2 rds)
• 11. (5sc, dec)x 6, 1slst, 1ch = 36

SC =  insert the hook through the next stitch, pick up the strand, pull the yarn over through the first loop on the hook, make 1 yarn over , pull it through the second loop on the hook.

• 12. (BLO: 3SC in the same st)x 36, 1slst.

Leave a thread of about 15 cm.

Tie the 2 threads as in the photo below.

HAIR

Brown color yarn:

• 1. 7sc in MR
• 2. BLO: 7inc = 14
• 3. BLO: [8ch, from the second ch from hook: 7slst; 1slst (in the next stitch on the disc)] x 4, [17ch, from the second ch from hook: 16slst; 1slst (in the next stitch on the disc)] x 10
• 4. FLO (to round 3): [17ch, from the second ch from hook: 16slst; 1slst (in the next stitch on the disc)] x 10

Just stick the disk to the top of the head. Then fix the strands of hair with the needle.

SWING

Little flower x 7 + 1 (for hair)

Start with brown color yarn:

• 1. 6sc in MR
• Change to yellow :
• 2. [2ch, 1sc (in the first ch), 1slst] x 6

Sew a flower on the doll’s hair.

Big flower

Start with brown color yarn:

• 1. 6sc in MR, 1slst, 1ch
• 2. 6inc, 1slst, 1ch = 12
• 3. 12sc, 1slst, 1ch

Change to yellow:

• 4. BLO: (1sc, 1ch, 1dc, picot, 1dc, 1hdc) x 12

picot = 2ch, 1sc (in the first ch)

Base of swing x 2

Green color yarn:

• 1. 7sc in MR
• 2. 7inc = 14
• 3. (1sc, inc)x 7 = 21
• 4. (2sc, inc)x 7 = 28
• 5. (3sc, inc)x 7 = 35
• 6. (4sc, inc)x 7 = 42
• 7. (5sc, inc)x 7 = 49
• 8. (6sc, inc)x 7 = 56
• 9. (7sc, inc)x 7 = 63
• 10. (8sc, inc)x 7 =70
• 11. (9sc, inc)x 7 = 77

Do not cut the thread at the second base.

Join the bases: 112 sc.

Do not forget to insert the plastic and polystyrene discs; the plastic one must be in the middle!

Swing support

Brown color yarn:

• 1. 6sc in MR
• 2. (inc, 2sc)x 2 = 8

Crochet a tube of 8 sc to the length of the prepared electrical wire, which we need to insert into it.

Sew the two ends of the support 3 rows from the edge of the base.

SIDE BLOCKING x 2

Brown color yarn:

• 1. 7sc in MR
• 2-15. 7sc (14 rds)

Insert a wire the length of the side blocking and close the hole.

Sew the side blocking to the base of the support.

On the side blocking of the left side, sew the big flower first.

Swing

Brown color yarn:

• 1. 19ch, from the second ch from hook: 18sc, 1ch, turn
• 2-7. 18sc, 1ch, turn (6 rds)

Crochet 2 pieces and join them with “sc”.

Don’t forget to insert the magnet (optional).

Crochet 30 ch from the one corner of the smaller side of the rectangle, attach the chain to the support with 1slst, return with 30 ch and join the chain to the other corner of the smaller side.

Do the same on the other side of the rectangle. The distance between the chains on the support must be 12 rounds.

Leaves x 10

Green color yarn:

• 1. 7ch, from the second ch remove 6 loops, (pull the thread every 2 loops) x 7,and on the other side of the starting chain: remove 6 loops, (pull the thread every 2 loops) x 7
• 2. [18ch, from the second ch remove 6 loops, (pull the thread every 2 loops) x 7,and on the other side of the starting chain: remove 6 loops, (pull the thread every 2 loops) x 7] x 11.

The distance between the leaves must remain 10 ch.

Before wrapping the leaves on the support, sew the flowers.
