MATERIALS:

Fingering weight yarn (225m/50g) in the following colors: black, cream, metallic gold, brown.
Hook 1.25 mm
Cream colored lining. The size of the lining depends on the size of the box.
Plastic canvas of 3 mm
Thin black felt
Eco or artificial leather for shoes, brown color. You can also replace with other materials, for example felt.
2 mm thick wire
Decorative wooden button
Small white pearls
2D decorative crown about 1.5 cm in diameter
2 decorative black plastic diamond 0.5 mm (or buttons/beads)
Scissors, needle, pins
Fiberfill

Plastic canvas is cut according to the shape of the front part; after which the lining is cut out, too.

Both are fixed to the front side with a few stitches and the entire part is lined. Please see the video: SA1957_2 (21’05”)

The other parts of the box-body will be lined in the same way!

Back part

Cream color:

1. 21ch, from the second ch of hook: 20sc, 1ch, turn =20
2-33. 20sc, 1ch, turn (32 rds)
34. [1inc3sc, 18sc, 1inc3sc, 31sc (on the rows]x 2, 1slst. FO. Cut the thread.

Change to black and attach the yarn in the second sc from the last increase of 3 sc:

35. [(1sc, 2ch, 1sc) in the same st, 20sc, (1sc, 2ch, 1sc) in the same st, 33sc]x 2 , 1slst. FO. Cut the thread.

Cut out 6 squares from thin red felt to cover the back of the box, placing them in a rhombus, as in the photo, and glue them.

The size of the squares depends on the size of the back of the box-body.

Now embroider with gold thread, see video SA1956_2 = 32’56” After decorate, you must lining it.

Side part x 2

Cream color:

1. 10ch, from the second ch of hook: 9sc, 1ch, turn = 9
2-33. 9sc, 1ch, turn (32 rds)
34. [1inc3sc, 7sc, 1inc3sc, 31sc (on the rows)]x 2, 1slst = 90. FO. Cut the thread.

Change to red and attach the yarn in the second sc from the last increase of 3 sc:

35. [1sc, (1sc, 2ch, 1sc) in the same st, 9sc, (1sc, 2ch, 1sc) in the same st, 33sc]x 2 , 1slst. FO. Cut the thread.

For support, sew a thick wire of the right length so that a third remains outside (about 5 cm). See the photos below.

Then plastic canvas is cut according to the shape of the side part; after which the lining is cut out, too.

Before fixing the linings, insert the hands and sew them.

Assembling the hands (see video SA1956_2: 42’19”)

Sew the decorative wooden button on the right side.

The lower part

Cream color:

1. 21ch, from the second ch of hook: 20sc, 1ch, turn =20
2-8. 20sc, 1ch, turn (7 rds)
9. [1inc3sc, 18sc, 1inc3sc, 7sc (on the rows)]x 2, 1slst. = 62. FO. Cut the thread.

Change to black and attach the yarn in the second sc from the last increase of 3 sc:

35. [1sc, (1sc, 2ch, 1sc) in the same st, 20sc, (1sc, 2ch, 1sc) in the same st, 8sc]x 2 , 1slst. FO. Cut the thread.

Plastic canvas is cut according to the shape of the upper/lower part!

Before fixing the linings sew the legs to the lower side. (see video SA1957_2 : 49’30”)

Spades Collar (video SA1956_2: 54’42”)

Black color:

1. 32ch, from the second ch of hook: 31sc, 1ch, turn = 31
2-14. 31sc, 1ch, turn (13rds)
15. sk 1sc, 12sc, 1slst = 13, 1ch, turn
16. sk 2sc, 10sc, 1slst = 11,1ch, turn
17. sk 2sc, 8sc, 1slst = 9, 1ch, turn

Repeat rows 15-19 in the other extremity.

Don’t cut the thread, crochet “sc” all around, 3sc in the corners and “slst” at unworked stitches of the middle of Rd14 (see video).

Then “slst” with golden yarn or embroider.

Sew the collar with plastic canvas to the upper part . (video 62’36”). The size of the plastic canvas is the same as that of the lower part of the box (body).

Sew the hat to the collar.
