Marina Doll – Free crochet pattern

Here is the Marina doll, a free pattern found on the internet, its creator being Luisa Maria Arango Perez. I translated and interpreted this pattern in my own way so that it could be understood by as many amigurumi lovers as possible. At the end of this article you will find the original photos of the model. I hope you like it and find joy when you crochet it! Have a crocheted day!

Materials:

• Cotton yarn in the following colors: light apricot (skin), brown, black, green, dark green, white, light brown, light blue, blue, cream, shaded yarn with cream, blue and green.
• Hook n° 1,5 and 2
• Safety eyes
• 3 mm craft wire .
• Sewing hooks for the dress or buttons
• Star-shaped beads
• Plastic templates

Embroider the eyes with white thread as in the photo. Embroider eyelashes and eyebrows with black thread.

LEGS x 2

Start with light brown color yarn:

• 1. 5ch, from the second ch from hook: 3sc, inc3sc and on the other side of the chain 3sc, inc3sc = 12
• 2. 3sc, 3inc, 3sc, 3inc = 18
• 3. 3sc, (inc, 1sc)x 3, 3sc, (inc, 1sc)x 3 = 24
• 4. 3sc, (inc, 2sc)x 3, 3sc, (inc, 2sc)x 3 = 30
• 5. 5sc, inc, 1sc, inc, 2sc, inc, 1sc, inc, 7sc, inc,1sc, inc, 2sc, inc, 1sc, inc, 2sc = 38
• Cut two soles out of plastic.
• 6. 38sc.  Crochet another one in the same way.
• 7. Put the 2 soles with the right side out in the middle of the heel, join the 2 pieces, taking 1 loop of each with 1 round of slip stitch in blue. Insert the plastic sole inside.
• Change to green yarn:
• 8. BLO: 38sc (in a row with blue yarn)
• 9-10.  38sc
• Change to white yarn:

Make 24ch around the ankle and end with 1 slip stitch at the beginning of the chain.

*Insert the wire that will support the whole body including the head and stuff the leg!*

Crochet the other leg (the right) in the same way.

BODY (stuff while crocheting)

Start with white color yarn:

• 1. From the left leg:  4ch, (13sc, inc, 4sc, inc, 2sc) – on the right leg, 4sc on the chain, (2sc, inc, 4sc, inc, 13sc) – on the right leg, 4sc on the other side of the chain = 54
• 2-7. 54sc (6 rds)

• 14. 11sc, (2sc, dec)x6, 10sc  = 39 (check that the decreases are centered behind)
• Change to light apricot color yarn:

• 27-29. 42sc (5 rds)
• Join the arms:
• 30. 15sc on the body, 3sc body and arm, 18sc on the body, 3sc body and arm, 3sc on the body = 42

On the neck, between the head and the body, insert the rubber tube on the wire.

DRESS (hook n° 2)

• Continue with 1 sc along the back edge to the end, making an increase to turn up. Do the same on the other side of the back. When we reach the edge we will start the skirt of the dress.

• 5. 1sc, (4sc, inc)x 18, 1sc, 1slst, 1ch = 110
• 6-10.  110sc, 1slst, 1ch (5 rds)
• 11. (9sc, inc)x 11, 1slst, 1ch  = 121
• 12-20. 121sc, 1slst, 1ch (9 rds)
• Change to shaded color yarn:
• 21. 121sc, 1slst, 1ch
• 22. (9sc, inc)x 12, 1sc, 1slst, 1ch  = 133
• 23-27. 133sc, 1slst, 1ch (5 rds)
• 28. Crab stitch

Sew the sewing-hooks or buttons on the back of the dress.

Embroider the skirt with cream thread as in the photo.

Embroider with dark green thread from the waist down 3-4 branches and then sew the star-shaped beads (see photo).
