NATIVITY SCENE – Mary – free crochet pattern
And on the third day after the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, Mary went out of the cave, and, entering a stable, placed the child in a manger, and an ox and an ass adored him. Then was fulfilled that which was said by the prophet Isaiah, “The ox knows his owner, and the ass his master’s crib.” Therefore, the animals, the ox and the ass, with him in their midst incessantly adored him. Then was fulfilled that which was said by Habakkuk the prophet, saying, “Between two animals you are made manifest.”
Thanks to creator Jennita De Amor, I was able to transcribe the pattern from her YouTube channel. (Click on the colored words and you will be directed there.)

This is beautiful!
Do you have a pattern for the wise men or an angel or camel?
Thank you for the update.
Thank you so much for this pattern!
There are a few things that could be corrected:
– in the veil the number of rows do not match the length shown in the photo. For the veil to be shoulder length I had to add around 6 rows to the pattern.
– the hands are too long, to look like the photo I reduced a few rows to the length.
– the hair is also too big. I reduced the number of rows to look like the photo
I made Mary’s veil and it is very much shorter than the photo in the pattern.
Hi Melissa! Thank you for the comment!
If it seems too short, crochet 12 rows from round 13 instead of 6 rows.
What is a silicone bar?? Looks like a glue stick?? I’ve never used this.. please help!!
Hi Lea! Thank you for the comment! Here is an example: https://www.amazon.com/Glue-Gun-Melting-Repairs-Sealing/dp/B09V25NHZ4/ref=sr_1_14?crid=EM64RGG061HB&keywords=silicone%2Bbars%2Bhot%2Bglue&qid=1684962235&sprefix=silicon%2Bbar%2Caps%2C488&sr=8-14&th=1
This is helpful. I couldn’t find one either and substituted rolled thickened cardboard instead.
You could provide a notes section to the pattern or link to examples in the items needed section.
Thanks heaps, my Mary is looking pretty good so far.
Hello Carmen, is there a way that one can print out these patterns? Or buy them to print out?
Hi Lizel! Thank you for the comment.
I introduced this blog protection feature due to the increasing number of content thefts on my site. Blog posts are free but cannot be copied or printed. If you want to have the pattern, take screenshots and merge them into a pdf or word file.
Thank you for your understanding,
Carmen
