OX AMIGURUMI – Free crochet pattern

The designer Elena Belova manages to surprise us also with these free Ox pattern which I suggest you to crochet them together.

Materials:

  • Yarn of the desired type and color. In the pattern are used acrylic yarn 300m / 100gr , light yellow  and a little brown, white, light pink.
  • Number of crochet according to the yarn. In the pattern is used n° 1,25.
  • Plastic eyes 10 mm
  • White felt
  • Fake eyelashes
  • Satin ribbon (green: width 4 cm, length 15 cm and red: width 0.5 cm, length 15 cm)
  • 2 light yellow wood buttons
  • Black thread for embroidery
  • White and yellow thread for sewing
  • Fiberfill for stuffing
  • Glue
  • Red pencil for coloring the cheeks

With acrylic yarn and crochet hook n° 1.25, the ox will be about 14cm high with the horns.

EARS (make 2)

With light yellow color yarn:

  • 1: 6 sc in MR = 6
  • 2: (inc) х 6  = 12
  • 3: (1 sc, inc) х 6  = 18
  • 4: (5 sc, inc) х 3  = 21
  • 5-7: 21sc (3 rds)
  • 8: (5 sc, dec) х 3  = 18
  • 9: (4 sc, dec) х 3  = 15
  • 10: (3 sc, dec) х 3  = 12
  • 11: Fold and crochet 6 sc
  • FO. Leave a tail for sewing
  • 12: Fold and sew: 3sc
  • 13: Color the ear with a red pencil

HORNS (make 2)

White color yarn. Leave a long thread for sewing before you start crocheting:

  • 1: 6 sc in MR = 6
  • 2: (inc) х 6  = 12
  • 3: (3 sc, inc) х 3  = 15
  • 4: BLO 15 sc
  • 5-6: 15 sc (3 rds)
  • 7: 4 slst, 3 sc, 5 hdc, 3 sc = 15

  • 9: 1 sc, 3 slst, 2 sc, 5 hdc, 1 sc = 12
  • 10: (2 sc, dec) х 3  = 9. Stuff the horn!
  • 11: (1 sc, dec) х 3  = 6. FO. Close the hole! Hide the thread!
  • The free loops from 4th round are for sewing on the head.

HOOVES and FRONT LEGS (make 2)

Brown color yarn. Leave a long thread for sewing and shape the hoof before you start crocheting:

  • 1: 6 sc in MR = 6
  • 2: (inc) х 6  = 12
  • 3: (1 sc, inc) х 6  = 18
  • 4: (2 sc, inc) х 6  = 24
  • 5: BLO 24sc
  • 6-8: 24sc
  • 9: (2 sc, dec) х 6  = 18
  • 10: (1 sc, dec) х 6  = 12
  • 11: (2 sc, dec) х36  = 9. Stuff the hoof!
  • Change to yellow color yarn!
  • 12-17. 9sc  (6 rds)
  • Stuff the leg!
  • 18: (1 sc, dec) х 3  = 6. FO. Close the hole! Leave a tail for sewing
  • Shape the hoof with brown thread left at the beginning (photo)

  • Change to yellow color yarn!

  • 16: 3sc, 2dec-hdc, 4sc = 9
  • 17-20: 9sc (4 rds) Stuff the leg!
  • 21: (1 sc, dec) х 3  = 6. FO. Close the hole! Leave a tail for sewing. Shape the hoof with brown thread left at the beginning.

TAIL

With light yellow color yarn:

  • 1: 10ch and from the second ch from hook crochet 9sc, 1ch, turn
  • 2: 9sc. FO. Leave a tail for sewing!
  • 3: Fold and sew! (photo)

Cut a few brown threads to form a tuft to attach to the tail!

ASSEMBLY

  • Sew the legs to the body so that it can sit on the bottom (sit down) – watch here.
  • Sew the tail to the back, 8 rows from the lower end of the body.
  • Sew the muzzle to the head, 16 rows from the center of the head.
  • Divide the snout in half with pink thread.
  • Sew the horns sideways 6 rows from the center of the head.
  • Sew the ears sideways, under the horns.
  • Sew the buttons on the muzzle with pink thread after coloring with red pencil.

It also colors the middle of the muzzle!

  • Embroider the top of the head with brown thread as in the photo.
  • Cut two discs of white felt 2 cm in diameter and glue the eyes on them.
  • Glue the eyes above the muzzle and the false eyelashes as in the photo.
  • With black thread embroider the mouth, eyebrows as in the photo.
  • Color the cheeks and the belly with red pencil.
  • Put a colorful bow around his neck.
